Political Nuisance: Noy Over Mar

After all the pre-matured political campaigns airing in the media of Sen. Mar Roxas, the latter announced yesterday his support for Sen. Noynoy Aquino to hold the torch of leadership for the Liberal Party in this upcoming 2010 presidential elections. Although, Aquino was in the same function room where Roxas delivered the announcement, he remained mum over the issue.

The abrupt decision of LP for the group’s standard bearer is just another political tactic. As we all know, it was barely a month since the death of President Cory Aquino and we have seen the impact of the incident to many Filipinos. Even EDSA 1 and the martyr, late Sen. Ninoy, the father of Noynoy, were remembered all throughout the event.

Roxas has been vocal on his objective to become the head of the state. The turn down was deemed to be a sacrifice. LP seemed to consider and take advantage of the intact sympathy of the mass for the Aquinos.

However, if Noynoy eventually decline the bid for presidency the credibility of the Liberal Party and the new ‘torch-bearer’ is at stake.

Should Noynoy run a seat in MalacaƱang?

Roxas has Korina Sanchez as his winning sword. Meanwhile, Aquino...just striking while the iron is hot...clock is ticking....Politicking, politicking....
