We frequently refer Tambays as slothful men who are hanging around the streets and sari-sari stores enjoying their shots of alcohol and pulutan—jobless, half-naked with bulging tummies, heavy smoker and war-freak.
Conversely, for me, a tambay sa kanto is more than a bystander, someone who is keen observer and well-opinionated. A good debater, that is.
If we try to hang-out with them and listen on their arguments we’ll definitely learn sensible things. Topics would normally under politics and other issues in the society, sports and showbiz too. Gossips? It’s usual during the flow of conversation and we can’t ignore them.
With this, I included “Tambay” as a new label or section on my blog, where you’ll read my views and opinions on random issues of today.

In my entire election experience, I never voted a celebrity for a public post. Having heard in the news as to the number of celebrities who won in the last May 2010 election is quite frustrating. Bong Revilla, Jinggoy Estrada and Lito Lapid were re-elected as Senators. To hell with Lito Lapid, I haven’t noticed him in the Senate neither heard of any projects nor bills passed during his term. What else he can do on his next six-year term?
What will then happen to the lower congress now that Lani Mercado, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Manny Pacquiao and Imelda Marcos are in the house? The congress as we all know is legislative in nature. Its primary responsibility is to make laws for the benefit and protection of everybody and for the country. I wonder what bills they’re gonna make specially Imelda.
However, an average head is better than an intellectual one. The latter is mostly likely to be more corrupt and they could easily conceal fraud at its incomprehensible angle. The former president turned congresswoman of Pampanga, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo have never been contented. She’s definitely thirsty for power.
On the other hand, like mother like son. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo and his allies structured a party-list group called Ang Galing Pinoy (AGP), a group that purportedly represents janitors and security guards. And was one of the party-list groups proclaimed by the COMELEC in the last election. It is insanity. How can he represent the group? He is not even a member of the marginalized sector.

The President’s notable no wang-wang rule is currently in order. Kudos! to the traffic enforcers who are after the ban violators and to those who humbly surrendered and deactivated the gadgets. However, I have read that Mr. Prexy was a bit late during one of his appointments with the AFP for following his no wang-wang rule. I think he should consider himself exempted from the ban after all he is the highest official of the state. He should not be late on his appointments. Surely, everybody will understand.

Regarding Willie Revillame’s threat to resign in ABS-CBN for the reason of being hit in the news by his detractor—Jobert Sucaldito, It seems that Willie have been runoff by too much confidence and became vainglorious. Though it’s true that the broadcasting company is earning much from his show, still, his resentments should be address directly to the management of the company and not in the public. It’s quite unethical and unprofessional. The host should have also considered that as an artist and a public figure, harsh and unfair judgments might be thrown by his critics any time and such are just part of his career. He should take these things constructively whenever it hits him otherwise ignore if it’s a mere gossip.
